Residents obstructing verges

Reported anonymously at 14:43, Wednesday 8 September 2021

It is not an offence to park a car on a grass verge unless it is causing an obstruction or there is a Traffic Regulation Order in place prohibiting it. Despite this, residents are placing obstructions such as posts of wood on the verges to stop cars parking on them simply because they don’t want them to - not because they would cause an obstruction or due to a TRO. This also puts families at risk who need to park locally to drop their children off at school, as they cannot safely enter & exit their vehicles on the pavement side, meaning children are having to be got out of the car into a busy road. This is an issue on multiple locations on Bristol Drive & has been going on for some time.
