School junction on swallow avenue
Reported via mobile in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 21:47, Sunday 6 September 2026
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2904236.
The drains at this location always overflow even in fairly light rain, looking at it closer I see that there’s a significant amount of surface water coming from the school and onto the highway, in my mind there’s two choices, ask the school to install drainage on the exit of the school or improve the highway drains to cope, I do believe that the main carrier drain along this road is very silted up so this will require investigation. It is of significance importance considering young people cross this road on a daily basis

The County Council is aware of the issue however assessments carried out during heavy rainfall indicate that the highway drainage system is functional, with its overall capacity most likely exceeded during prolonged heavy rainfall or extreme weather events. Whilst we understand the customers frustration please note that the demand on the County Council's drainage cleansing resource has been and still is significant and all responses must be prioritised based on the severity of the issue reported where for example significant internal flooding of property and/or very significant flooding of A, B or C roads has occurred. Thank you for reporting this matter.
