Backfill behind rumble strips has been eroded away by traffic (a large number of agricultural vehicles use this road). rain water ponds behind rumble strips, allowing tractors that go partially off the roadway to deeply excavate grassed soil backfill. needs a more substantial backfill.. at the moment if a saloon car moves too far to its nearside to avoid an oncoming wide load, the nearside wheels will drop into cavity and engine sump will be damaged.
