Curbside drain overflows and floods the road every time it rains.

Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 04:04, Mon 27 August 2018

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 336478.

I've just moved into the lane and on the three occasions it has rained, the water has flooded the area. It has been so high that it is impossible to get in and out of cars without wellies on!

  • This fault has not been addressed and it getting worse. The flooding that occurs when it rains continues to flow down the street. Now it’s icy in the mornings this is of greater concern as the area is becoming dangerous for pedestrians and cars. I teach close by and have to walk classes over the area and the additional problem of ice concerns my greatly. I was sent an update saying the problem has been resolved but to my knowledge it has not been looked at or addressed. A more specific and prompt update would be appreciated.

  • Absolutely nothing has been done to address the issue. The street and path flood every time it rains making it impossible to park outside the houses and walk safely along the path. The problems appears to be getting worse as the volume of water building up on the road has increased.

  • Cars are forced to park across the path in order to be able to get in and out.

  • I don’t believe any work has been carried out as this problem continues to occur every time it rains. The drain is still full to the brim of debris which has been there since the problem was first reported nearly a year ago.

  • The street continues to flood every time it rains. Wellies are required to access cars and walk around the area. It seems to be getting worse each time it rains as the street goes from clear to flooded with little time in between. Properties are at risk as the row of houses all have cellars. This shouldn’t be an issue at the top of a hill, but because the drain is completely blocked the surface water spreads along the street. This leaves excessive surface water along Winnowsty Lane and spreads onto Lindum Hill, making it hazardous to cross the road as you have to use an unsafe position. As this was reported almost a year ago I would expect some investigation to be taking place as to why this has not been addressed and left so long. Back in November a ‘job repair’ was issued as has not been carried out.
