I wAS TELEPHONED, AS A County Councillor, yesterday evening following an 85 year old lady tripping up outside Spalding Travel, Lincolnshire Co-op 17 Hall Place Spalding PE11 1SP. Dates of fall Tuesday 13 November 2018. Lady was badly cut and bleeding and the incident was seen by customers and staff sitting in Travel agents. Lady was helped by market trader, her husband and staff from pub opposite who brought ice to put on wound. She caught her foot in a brick paviours which is loose and stands higher than adjoining blocks. There are several other blocks which are not fixed in and move when trodden on. The lady was embarrassed and did not want to give her name etc. Customer fell on face and smacked her nose and knee which been. I visited the site today and a lot of the blocks. Are loose and you can easily stub your toe against the blocks. Customer in the travel agents used to work in Shdc office so asked the elderly, people if they wanted her to give me their details. They did not want to give their name but they were happy for lady to contact me. I went into the Travel agents this. Afternoon and then also gave me a copy of similar problems round about the same area. Ref FS-case-82238376. Apparently the market Inspector has saved details of Another incident last week when a lady who had received 2 new knees tripped and fell on her knees and face.
