Cars driving over path and pavement as road to narrow- requesting a bollard
Reported in the Bollards (unlit) category anonymously at 12:33, Fri 22 March 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 349168.
The road is too narrow. As a result there has been near misses to people being run over at the crossing point. This is because there is no raised kerb. The kerb has been demolished because cars are driving at speed and the corner is narrow. I am worried about someone getting hurt or killed. Also this will cost thousands of the crossing has to be repaired and replaced several times a year. When it snows as the kerb is crushed you can’t see a road outline and people therefore are driving on the pavements. Taylor Wimpey have said as you haven’t agreed a bollard they won’t install one. Therefore I am requesting that you install a ‘bell safety cast iron traffic bollard’ to stop this happening as it could save countless lives. I note there are several of these around Stamford already and they work perfectly. I hope this can be agreed to be installed ASAP as I really don’t want to witness anyone getting hurt or dying because of this safety issue. Nor do I want the council spending £5,000 a year every year repairing the corner.

It’s a disgrace neither the council or Taylor Wimpey are prepared to stop easily avoidable accidents on this corner due to this inconsiderate parking. Does someone need to be seriously injured before anyone takes action!! At the very least issue a warning to this driver!
