Speed Limit Signs not complying to the Law
Reported in the Sign (unlit) category anonymously at 16:24, Wed 27 March 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 349460.
The Road 'Martin South Drove' has 'new' 40 mph signs at both ends, (53°07'29.4"N 0°18'25.2"W, 53°08'10.9"N 0°15'37.5"W). This speed limit signage does not comply with the letter of the law. i.e. If there are no street lights, the limit is the National Speed Limit unless indicated by pairs of signs at the start of the limit and by regular repeater signs along the entirety of the restriction. Therefore, this speed limit is not legally binding. Extra repeaters need to be installed along the 2 mile stretch of road. Ref: Traffic Advisory Leaflet 1/95 March 1995
