A pedestrian barrier has been severely damaged by a vehicle on the edge of the pavement on the corner of Doddington Road and Newark Road. The barrier has served it's purpose, to arrest vehicle progression onto the pavement and so protect pedestrians on a high risk corner, but it is clearly no-longer fit for purpose and needs replacing urgently.

Either it was not properly repaired or has been hit again. Whether it was repaired or replaced, it is now damaged and is clearly weakened, and so now unfit for the safety purpose it was engineered for.
