Accident imminent - Extremely dangerous junction due to trees
Reported in the Visibility at junction or bend category anonymously at 09:44, Mon 24 June 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 352751.
Coming out of Stockwith Lane on to the main road A1028 you can no longer see left or right more than about 2 metres. It’s been this way months now but is worse as the trees have bloomed.. This means you have no choice but to inch out of the junction, and then pull out blind. The cars are coming down that road doing 60mph, a lot of the time cars and bikes overtaking upto the junction and sometimes motor bikes doing a lot more than 60mph and when pulling out you genuinely cannot see anymore as the trees are obscuring the view. Also, there is a path that runs from that junction to the other end of Ulceby - it’s not accessible now due to over grown grass, hedges and trees. Most importantly, that the junction needs to be addressed before someone is killed, a collision there would be catastrophic due to the speed in which the traffic is passing and often vehicles are overtaking there as it’s a long straight bit of road with a clear view of your not coming out of the junction. Cars approaching the junction who are travelling along the main road have a good view of the junction, but the people in the junction trying to pull out can’t see a thing. I have stopped going that way as my children are in my car and I’m not risking it ... but it’s a longer diversion every day. The residents here would really appreciate some action ASAP to sort it, Thank you.

Pictures above are from the junction, it’s worse to the left of the junction, but both sides give poor visibility for pulling out. The trees need cutting right back. If a car is over taking, you just would have no idea until your all the way out. You also risk pulling out on someone and being hit from the side or from behind. Thank you
