Barnes and Dyke Drove becoming impassable due to very poor road surface
Reported in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 11:53, Thu 15 August 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 354597.
Dear Sir I am writing to make you aware of the road condition along Barnes Drove and Dyke Drove. The surface along both of these carriageways is cluttered with pot holes, ridges and craters all leading to the access to our homes becoming almost impassible. I note that the road leading across the adjacent Morton Fen has recently been totally resurfaced. Could you please let me know when Barnes and Dyke Drove will be brought to the same condition. Regards Dr Brian Parkinson

This fault will be assessed for the possibility of future permanent works and prioritised according to our Highways Asset Management Plan.
Our programme of works is available at http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/ highways-works-programmes and is updated every Autumn. All requests are prioritised within the available annual budget so works may not appear on the next programme.
However, we will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspection schedule and issue temporary repairs, where necessary, in accordance with our response times for fault reports.State changed to: Closed

Dear Sir
Thank you for your reply even though it is not going to help our cause with regard to Barnes and Dyke Droves. I feel that the closure on this issue is far from satisfactory and needs to be considered in line with the road surface condition. The condition of the road is appalling and deserves some consideration other than the comment “close”. I would appreciate further and more detailed investigation needs to be carried out and the road needs to be brought up to a serviceable condition. Not only is the surface unserviceable for road vehicles but acts as a blight on my property which is located along the drove.
I would appreciate your consideration on this matter and a visit being made to see the terrible road condition.
Regards
Dr Brian Parkinson
