Water coming out of gulley and running down road
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 11:28, Mon 28 October 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 357792.
I would think that the line is blocked beyond this gulley as water is coming out of it and running down hill and then into the next gulley. Getting dangerous now as icy road warnings are here. Brigg Rd between Caistor lakes and Canada lane on the east side.

This has been reported for over a month now and still the drains remain blocked causing flooding at the bottom of Canada Lane when when it rains and blocking off the road and also there is constant water running down the road even when it is not raining. This has resulted in passing vehicles to splash my children when walking up to the Grammar School. Now the weather has got cold, the water splashed onto the footpath has turned to ice and therefore the children have to walk on the ice which is dangerous as they may fall or they have resulted walking on the road with their backs towards oncoming traffic. This is extremely hazardous and the drains need to be unblocked immediately before an accident happens.

This problem still exists after being reported for three months and is causing problems with icy roads and footway unusable for pedestrians. You say this has been forwarded to your alliance partners and as yet there is no evidence of any action. I would suggest a kick where it hurts might elicit some action from them!

Received email from yourselves this morning to say work completed. Just driven past and as seen from photograph it is still exactly the same as it’s been for months with water running out the gully and down the hill to Canada Lane. Obviously no work has been done.

When I spoke to them to get them to come out to unblock these drains after 3months they told me that they didn't have enough resources. Imagine if I told them that I didn't have enough resources to pay my council tax bill! Anyway I escalated this to the customer relations team stating the danger of this freezing in the cold weather and also the recent flooding at the bottom of the road cutting off access to the village and they have promptly acted on this. Unfortunately the Contractors attending only completed the unblocking of one of the drains at the bottom of the road and didn't think to resolve the full problem by unblocking the drain at the top of the road, when it was clear to be seen where the water was coming from. Therefore I have asked the customer relations team to request that the Contractor returns to complete the remainder of the work. Is it a wonder why they are short of resources when they have to attend twice to fix a problem when it could have been done once! I have also requested that they clean the footpath when they next attend as this is now very muddy so it isn't dragged into the house when walking home. Had they attended to this 3months ago when it was first reported then this extra job would not have been required
