Wheel tracks and ruts for the length of the by road from Wickenby telephone exchange to the T junction with Mill Lane via Lissinglea crossing .
Reported in the Wheel tracks or ruts category anonymously at 16:42, Fri 15 November 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 359185.
These wheel ruts have recently appeared since the closure of the A46 through Faldingworth on 13 Nov for 3 weeks. Traffic are using this single track road as a rat run to go to Mill Lane. The road is only single track with two blind corners and no passing places. Traffic is often travelling too fast for the conditions and accidents are bound to occur. This is causing erosion of the verges for at least 3 feet either side of the road for the length of this route. It is also causing more potholes and wear of the edges of the road which has increased dramatically in the last 3 days. It will soo not be passable if this continues for the next 3 weeks and will not get repaired easily. If the road had a No access except for local access this might reduce the volume of traffic whic should be diverted via Station Road Wickenby, to avoid further damage.
