Storm drain directly outside 88 Wragby Rd, Sudbrooke A158
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 11:43, Tue 26 November 2019
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 359946.
A158 storm drains completely blocked with mud, silt, debris, grass growing out of them from Langworth to North Greetwell! These have definitely NOT been cleaned in the past year as I monitor them. Neither is this road regularly swept which would prevent most debris from entering the drain. I regularly rod the drain outside my house but having returned from holiday during the recent storms I found the drain outside my house completely full of straw and silt. I can't unblock it this time as the rods go in for 4 lengths then hit something solid. A contributing factor is that as the road has been resurfaced so many times the surface of the road is now at the same height as my dropped kerbstones to my drive (the drive slopes down from the road) and the rain water now pours down my drive, it can become ankle deep in a very short time. Both drains either side of my property are also completely blocked. In light of the recent flooding I would hope that the council would make maintaining drains a priority. There is also the safety aspect, this is a busy road and there must be a high risk of aquaplaning with so much standing water. Please can you clear the drains? Kind regards S. This fault will be fixed as part of our next cycle of works. We cut the grass three times a year and treat weeds twice a year between April and October. We clean highway drains once a year.

I have just spoken to the workforce involved in cleaning the drains (19/02/2020). All they have been tasked to do is clean the OPENING to the storm drains. This will NOT improve any draining of rainwater whatsoever. The pipework requires rodding/jetting to clear it.
Attached is a pic from opposite 88, the drain opening has been cleaned but the pipework remains blocked, as you can see the water isn't going anywhere.
Please could you clear the PIPEWORK to allow the rainwater to drain freely.
Also a regular road clean would help prevent debris from collecting and blocking the drains.
Kind regards
