In addition to the previously reported significant surface issues on this road which remain unrepaired. Road user, cyclist and pedestrian safety is dangerously compromised by those in vehicles who are regularly observed to be travelling at speeds in excess of the national speed limits past the residential properties. The combination of the poor road surface, minimal and deteriorating grass verges and excessive speed create a perceived significant road safety risk. In comparison to other heavily used B road feeder routes to a large village/settlement within the county, Hale Lane appears to be significantly lacking in road signage and required speed reduction measures (decreasing speed limits) to ensure the safety of the residents upon this road and the increased population of individuals who are engaging in outdoor excercise in the locality within the current pandemic climate.
