Multiple areas of collapsed verge and severe holes

Reported in the Collapsed verge category anonymously at 21:36, Mon 9 December 2019

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 360976.

The strip of what used to be verge at the entrance to Eastgate is severely damaged for about 20 metres in length. This issue has been getting worse for about 2 months and in the last 3 weeks has severely degraded. The rutting is now so severe that vehicles are likely to become stuck if they go over the verge slowly. The road is also covered in mud and stones which is slippery in poor weather and with a street light right next to verge it feels only a matter of time before an incident occurs. It needs resolving ASAP. The road is very narrow at this point and any vehicles wider than a large SUV have to use the verge to get down the road, so it's getting worse every day.

  • Update 03/02/2020 - photos attached showing the extent of the issue and the size of the pothole which is encroaching further into the road. In certain weather conditions, and with large vehicles the road is impassable. There are 4 tickets open with the same issue, some for over 3 months. Whilst I appreciate this is a large issue, please communicate as to when the road will be resurfaced.

  • The road was "repaired" 1 week ago, but some of the holes which were filled have already reopened, as the stones pushed into holes have just relifted out. Furthermore the road was left in an absolute mess after the repairs, photos attached show the day after the repair. You can't drive on the repaired section of road. The problem hasn't been fixed, just patched up which has already undone itself after 1 week. Can I suggest a proper repair is undertaken to avoid being back at square one repeatedly? Just putting some stones and compacting them into the existing holes doesn't work, the road needs properly repairing and cleaning.
