Sheer drop into dyke

Reported in the Damaged road edge, encroaches more than 100mm category anonymously at 15:26, Sun 15 December 2019

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 361343.

Recently a tractor tipped into the dyke here as the road is simply not wide enough for the vehicles that are using it. There is barely room for 2 cars to pass safely as the road is only approximately four meters wide. It is regularly used by large tractors and lorries servicing local businesses. It is a blind bend and if you meet something large, there is nowhere to go as the other side of the road has a house where the hedge is right up to the road edge. There is now a huge drop off from the edge of the road hopefully shown by the photo of my feet with one on the edge of the road and the other on the ‘verge’/in the dyke! It is only a matter of time before someone else ends up in there.

  • Just wondered if anyone has actually been out to see this today as I only reported it yesterday and it already says that it has been assessed and no action will be taken. If you haven’t actually been to see it, how can you make that assessment?
