Deep pothole right next to traffic island

Reported in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 18:33, Sat 21 December 2019

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 361943.

This has been here at least a week, it's very hard to spot at night due to shadows and light refraction from the road. Hard to avoid at busy times due to its close proximity to the kerb and traffic islands. I hit it at around 20mph and it has split my rim.

  • Drove through this pothole 21.12.19 at 21.00- at approx 20mph it’s huge and unavoidable due to size & position and was also impossible to see due to the rain and it being dark. It has split my tyre wall and put my tracking out and I would like to know how I can be compensated for this as my car is not driveable until it’s repaired.

  • I also hit this deep pothole on 21.12.19 at around 19:20 at approx 25mph. Impossible to see and avoid in the dark due to shadows and rain. In contact with insurers my car is undrivable due to tracking and other damages yet to be assessed. I also would like to know how I can be compensated for this as my car is not driveable until it’s repaired.
