Drain near village green is blocked- has been for years. Flooding yesterday was extreme.
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 11:25, Mon 10 February 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 6 minutes later. Council ref: 366502.
The drain sited in a pavement alongside the Swallow Green is totally silted up and now requires urgent action because my house was within an hour of being flooded yesterday. Also, drains by the church on the old A46 are blocked causing flooding across the road which spilled over the pavement to the foundations of my house. These drains have been blocked for years. We have been in contact with LCC on numerous occasions .

Today, my husband(85) and I (74) have been trying to clean up after the flood from the blocked drain. The muddiest part is where Mothers wait for the school bus with little ones. Dog walkers now have to move onto the main road because this pavement is so muddy. We feel obliged to make an effort but this is really too much.

I have made enquiries of the Environment Agency regarding the flooding of my back garden on the same day as the problem already outlined. Flooding of my property to the rear, came through from a blocked culvert fed by a water course which drains into the culvert and floods Laurel Cottage next door, and my garden as well. The water course passes through a disused orchard which backs on to both my property and my neighbours. The Environment Agency tell me that this issue is the responsibility of the Local Authority. We would be grateful if you would include this in your inspection visit and subsequent action.
