Unevenly raised paving slabs around cycle path bollard
Reported in the Damaged/missing boundary markers category anonymously at 16:11, Wed 12 February 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 366708.
This incident took place at, approximately, 11.20 am 12th February 2020 (I didn't take a photo because I'd no camera/phone with me). I did spend three hours in Grantham Hospital A&E because I'd tripped on the uneven slabs around the bollard which notifies that it marks a cycle path, I fell, cracking my head on the slabs. I decided I should inform someone about the problem. South Kesteven District Council Offices reception told me it was your responsibility. Advised me to get my head injury seen by my surgery at St. John's Medical Centre. St. John's suggested I should go to Grantham A&E, not least because my surgery had no one free to look at my injury until 2.20pm. So, I walked the mile(?) to A&E, not knowing whether or not I had concussion or some other worse injury. I'd guess I was at Grantham A&E from about midday until about 2.15pm. The fall, and my trying to save myself caused me to get a hole torn in the knee of my jeans as well...but at least I wasn't a more vulnerable member of the public. The bollard in question, as the Riverside walk continues, from its' meeting with St. Catherine's Road and towards Wyndham Park is often, for some reason, a fascinating challenge for some who find it to be offensive. Many times it appears to have been attacked in some way, or kicked or maybe it's a challenge to see who can lift it out of its' setting... Why don't you just remove it completely and just paint the path with symbols that people will probably ignore...Good luck to you I won't be giving "Harris Fowler" (Injury Lawyers) a call, that's part of the problem as well isn't it. All the best!
