Temporary repair has not resolved this long standing problem.
Reported via Android in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 13:35, Fri 21 February 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 8 minutes later. Council ref: 367593.
I was told a short time ago by a LCC R&H Representative, when he phoned me, that a temporary repair would be done by simply filling the depression with tarmac so that the cones could be removed whilst the real reason for the depression was found. This temporary repair has been done and the road is usable BUT the attached photo clearly shows that the overall problem has not been resolved at all. There is still a depression over 4"+ deep and over 3 feet wide, and when its full of water the water lake extends over 50% of the road width AND it can also be clearly seen that the depression extends into the pavement as well (see the reducing level of kerb stones which IS NOT a dropped kerb vehicle access) Something more serious is going on here and the temporary repair has not resolved it.
Do we have to wait for a full "SINKHOLE" to appear before a full and proper investigation/repair is carried out?

The Location Marker had moved from its proper location and should be immediately on top of the existing two just below it on the bend in Tavistock Road.

Thank LCC foe your for the update but, this exactly the same statement that you have made several times before and then you proceeded to close the case a few days later with zero action, for us to have to yet again report this issue which you then treat as a new case.
I seriously hope that this procedure is not repeated yet again!

I am aware that LCC R&H have been and investigated since my report above (4 vans arrived about 1 week after) but nothing visible has changed and I have not received any update what so ever from then as to what they found or didn’t find!

Repairs are scheduled. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, repairs may take longer than our usual response. Thank you for your patience.

New tarmac laid a few days ago and now have a nice flat surface after all this time. Hopfully LCC investigation has shown there is no "sinkhole" lurking below this and the adjacent sunken pavement!

There is already a new depression appearing within the area of the repaired tarmac towards the outside of the bend. I.E. on the RHS when approaching from Hawthorn Bank.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. The repair carried out was not a temporary repair, we excavated the defect and there was not apparent cause for the depression/void under the road such as a leaking pipe etc. The void was backfilled and compacted. We will monitor this site and act if the depression continues to develop again. Thank you for reporting this matter.
