Overgrown tree/hedges problem
Reported via Open311 in the Overgrown tree/hedges category by Customer Services at 10:49, Mon 24 February 2020
Council ref: 2300727.
Letter received - following numerous telephone calls - 5 trees which are now 50 feet in height, the root system looking for moisture is causing the footway to break up. In addition the roots may be reaching into the foundations of the properties. The trunk of one of the trees is rubbing against the telephone cable to our property. Over the years all that has been done for maintenance is to prune the lower branches. This has done nothing to deal with the number and height and damage being done by the spreading roots. Several years ago two trees were marked for removal but this never happened. In view of our concerns noted above we feel that if there is any damage to our property due to spreading roots or from falling trees or branches then we hold the council liable.
