Car parking on pedestrian island
Reported in the Obstruction on pavement/verge category anonymously at 23:09, Mon 24 February 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 367964.
Car has taken to parking on the pedestrian island between Lincoln road & west street. It is accessing the island by using the lowered "bumpy" pedestrian kerbing at the traffic lights (not witnessed but easily traceable by the tyre marks on the wet block paving). The other 2 sides of the triangular island are access protected by bollards and large ornamental planters. This represents a danger to a high number of school children that cross here to get to the Grammar school, never mind a breach of any road rules and a complete lack of common sense!

Have been to 3 cars at any one time parked on this pedestrian island. It has made the uneven block paving worse, and blocks access for mobility scooters & orans/pushchairs. I also poses a safety hazard to school children who need to cross the busy main road.

This problem seems to have sorted itself, although the same cars choose to park on the pavement elsewhere in the street at times!
