Overhanging trees adjacent to cycle path
Reported in the Overgrown tree/hedges category anonymously at 10:26, Sun 31 May 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 371848.
Area in front of school perimeter from entrance down to junction of Torgate Lane. Overhanging trees on cycle path creating safety concerns for cyclists and verge is unkept with excessive overgrown weeds and generally very untidy. In 2019 the school installed security fencing, leaving behind trees / branches and removed earth, this has led to long grass and weeds now overgrowing. This area is in the centre of the village and a prime focal point and is being left unattended by the school who have created the issue and being ignored by LCC / NKDC as part of their on-going grass cutting program is of concern as I assume it should be included in your program of scheduled works for the village?

The trees are still a bit low and this area is the responsibility of the school. We have spoken to the school and the caretaker is going to take a look. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: not the council's responsibility

This fault was first reported over 6 months ago and the LCC provided updates are nothing short of excuses and holding statements - why?? Eventually you have off loaded the issue to the school and the caretaker ‘is going to take a look’?? The issue raised was twofold - safety and aesthetics, this is a public footpath for pedestrians and cyclists and you have ignored the principal reason for why this was originally raised over 6 months ago - SAFETY Please review - thank you
