Flooding outside No 61 Rasen Lane. Lincoln
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 21:51, Wed 10 June 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 372279.
I have reported this issues before with photographic evidence. RefNo 368436) The drain outside No 61 cannot cope with heavy rain. All the accrued rubbish in the gutter washes to this point and blocks the drain making this situation worse. The fines from the road surface have now filled the drain to its outlet. It is only a question of time before my house gets flooded. The next street , Cecil Street, has 4 double drains in the same length of road! In these situations pedestrians take there life in their hands because cars still travel at speed through these lakes. My house gets drenched as a result of the tidal wave produced. I dare not open the front door. How much evidence do you require? This is the third set of photos I have sent in recent months. I look forward to your response. All I get is ‘no further action required’ I beg to differ!!

Here we are only a week later. Yet again flooding at No 61 Rasen Lane. As I said in all my previous postings. This happens with every heavy rain. This was in late afternoon. Cars travelling down the road taking no heed of the flooding and consistently drenched the front of the house to above the downstairs windows. I saw at least one cyclist and one pedestrian absolutely soaked by this situation. The drain is now full to the brim with fines from the road surface and this is slowing it’s already inadequate performance. When will someone take this seriously and fix this lack of drainage in Rasen Lane?

This fault will be fixed as part of our next cycle of works. We cut the grass three times a year and treat weeds twice a year between April and October. We clean highway drains once a year.

I will keep sending these in. I reported the issue via phone. I was promised a phone back on each occasion. Nothing. I keep getting back “no further action required” As I type this yet another huge lake is forming outside. I’m afraid “no further action” is not good enough. This is the fourth time in two months. If there are reasons why this problem is being ignored why is nobody telling me. A simple phone call is just common courtesy.
