Loud banging every time any vehicle drives over it

Reported in the Manhole/drain cover on road/cycleway category anonymously at 20:13, Mon 15 June 2020

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 372451.

Area around this cover been repaired recently looking at road surface. Both sections of cover now loose and can be made to knock from stamping on them. Larger the vehicle louder the banging. I made sound recordings over 10 minute period. Some 25 vehicles passed over it. A further 4 missing it because of size. All those that hit made it bang. Bigger the vehicle, louder the bang. FreshLinc HGV achieved multiple hits and loudest bangs. This drain cover is adjacent to numerous dwellings. The road is well used into evening and from early in the morning. This noise will be a cause of significant disturbance to these residents when trying to enjoy their outside spaces, or when sleeping.
