Large pothole in centre of road at junction of Cross Street and Spital Terrace in Gainsborough

Reported in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 09:09, Tue 23 June 2020

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 372742.

I first reported this developing problem several months ago. At that time the road surface was fragmenting across a wide area. A remedial repair at that time would have been justified and relatively inexpensive to fix. In your contractors wisdom, it was determined that a repair was not justified at that time! The situation now is that the whole surface has broken up with fragmented material spread across the road, leaving an enormous pothole, sufficient to damage vehicle suspension and tyres. Why does LCC take so long to react? Incidentally, this was reported long before the Covid lockdown arose. Had there been no reduction in traffic, this road surface would have fragmented and broken up many weeks ago.
