Grass Cutting & Overhanging Tree
Reported in the Overgrown tree/hedges category anonymously at 12:11, Wed 1 July 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 373037.
We have received the following report from a member of the oublic: I live at Maiden Grove, Sleaford and at the front of mine and the neighbour's properties is a strip of land running between our driveways and a footpath that links the road to the public open space. Until recently this was being mowed whenever they did the public open space. Unfortunately it's not being done now and when my neighbour asked the maintenance team they said it was no longer their responsibility and that I should contact you. The land is starting to look an eyesore and there is also a large tree at the end of the strip of land that is causing some concern to all the surrounding neighbours due to it's size and overhanging branches.
Please could you look into this.
Thank you.

According to our records we are only responsible for the carriageway and the footways in Maiden Grove with the exception of the link footway which goes past number 14. In addition the grassed area, including the tree, around the link footway does not form part of the Highway. If the tree is encroaching onto the footways for which we are responsible we would endeavour to locate the owner to instruct them to maintain the tree. Only in exceptional circumstances would we maintain the tree and we only carry out work to ensure the branches do not become a hazard on the public highway. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: not the council's responsibility
