Very uneven, broken down road surface along the length of West Street, causing severe skid danger to vehicles, cycles and pedestrians, and recurring pothole issues

Reported in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 12:12, Sunday 5 July 2020

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 373226.

This issue has been reported to Highways on several occasions (last time in October 2019, signed by all residents of West Street). Despite acknowledgement by Highways that the road surface is in a poor state of repair and deteriorating, no action is, apparently, deemed necessary. This is beyond belief! The road surface is appalling, uneven due to the breakdown of past ineffective ‘patching’ and consequently a significant (and increasing) skid hazard to all road users, quite aside from the potholes which regularly appear. Heavy traffic using the road (eg refuse trucks, delivery lorries and vans) as well as domestic cars are simply exacerbating the problem. It is to be hoped that effective and constructive action can be taken to rectify the situation before a serious accident occurs. I await your response.
