Vandalism of newly seeded grass verges.
Reported in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 14:57, Thu 9 July 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 373411.
The grassy areas/verges have been reseeded within the last week or so with new topsoil laid too. It appears that they have been vandalised by someone making a point of driving over all of the newly seeded parts within the last few days. This has created large dips in the soil and mud spread on the path which is very slippery. Not to mention frustrating for the residents who have to try and avoid it. With social distancing currently in place it forces people to walk on the road which is dangerous, where as you could normally walk on the grassy verge (if they had time to grow back).

This fault will be fixed as part of our next cycle of works. We cut the grass three times a year and treat weeds twice a year between April and October. We clean highway drains once a year.

Residents have taken to placing stakes in the ground and rocks by the kurb. If a pedestrian or child was to fall on one of these stakes the injuries could be very serious. The rocks next to a very busy road is a trip hazard for people attempting to cross the road. Also there is no yellow lines down this stretch of road so parking on the road next to the curb is fine. These posts could damage doors or the rocks could cause injury to people leaving there vehicle. Who is responsible for injury to persons or damage to vehicles? I appreciate its frustrating for residents but this is public highway and not part of there property so placing trip hazards and stakes for children to impale themselves on is not exceptable.
