Great oak corner of Wetherby Crescent and Newark Road
Reported in the Overgrown tree/hedges category anonymously at 15:58, Mon 17 August 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 375026.
The canopy of the old oak on the Corner Wetherby Cres and Newark Road has extended significantly over our front garden and many low branches over pedestrian area outside. We experienced falling wood branches into our garden over last autumn/winter and would respectfully ask if you could inspect with a view to trimming some of the overhanging branches. I appreciate you are limited with conservation trees but as it is some years since the last time work was carried out perhaps you could give the matter some attention before the next autumn fall. Many thanks for your help Susan Maloney

Thank you for your attention to the great oak 20th Jan. Unfortunately the branches trespassing over the gardens of 43 &43A Newark Road were not cut back. The tree surgeon said that they had only been authorised to cut back branches obstructing public footpath and Newark Road. Being a protected tree the contractor advised he could not attend to theses branches and that we needed to contact the council again to authorise cutting back the branches encroaching on our properties. We appreciate the footpath and road are priority for public safety and respectfully ask for your consideration to authorise work on these trespassing branches as and when you are in a position to do so. Many thanks Susan Maloney
