About 30 potholes along Westfield road, several are very large and take up most of the road. They are up to 6 inches deep. There is also a rough raised area as you turn onto Westfield road from Sleaford ( like a large speed bump), it means you have to almost stop to turn in from the A15 which has a 60 mph limit, this makes it very dangerous as people don't expect you to stop when turning left.

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 375931.
The potholes have been getting steadily worse all summer but the recent rain has made them almost impassable. The raised rough area at the junction with the A15 is especially dangerous.

Someone (probably the farmer) has dumped a load of rubble in the potholes.

The area where the farmer carried out the bodged repair has deteriorated and the potholes are now deeper than ever due to the raised surface. This issue has been showing as scheduled for fixing for some time but nothing has happened. This is extremely disappointing because the condition of the road (wet and muddy) means when the pothole are eventually repaired the first winter ice will lift the repair and it will be back to the usual state. This section of road needs a proper repair not just some tarmac squashed into the hole which is what normally happens.

We acknowledge your concerns and accept that the highway has deteriorated in condition. We have assessed the fault in accordance with our Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan and it does not require urgent action. This site has been identified as requiring further works however these will be subject to funding and other County priorities. In the meantime we will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspection schedule. Thank you for reporting this matter.

The reason the road is not quite as bad as it was at the junction with the A15 is that the farmer has filled some of the holes himself. The temporary infill washes away within a few weeks leaving the holes as bad as ever. He has been doing this for a couple of years and in one area of the road you cannot see the Tarmac surface. The junction with the A15 has been swept and again this only temporarily masks the issue. This road has not been resurfaced in the 10 years I have lived here and from speaking with the neighbours its a lot more than that. I know it's not a main road but if you keep putting it at the back of the funding queue it will never be repaired. The road needs to be properly repaired and resurfaced and I would like to know when the council intend to do this? Is there a schedule or do we just have to accept being treated as unimportant just because it's not a heavily built up area? I am extremely disappointed in the response especially as it has taken nearly a year for you to come to this conclusion and I hope you will reconsider your position.
