We have investigated this matter however this fault is not on the publicly maintainable highway. Lincolnshire County Council are not responsible for maintaining private drains within private properties. It is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure private drains are in a good condition and that they do not allow roots to enter through small gaps that might be present in the pipework. Any roots present will need to be removed by the property owner. The size of the roots present in this case would not have damaged the pipes, they would have come through any existing small cracks in the pipe. The roots can be easily removed and the pipe pointed up to avoid ingress in the future. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: not the council's responsibility
