Overgrown shrubs impeding bridleway
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction on pavement/verge category anonymously at 13:12, Fri 9 October 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 377825.
Shrubs have grown on both sides of the bridleway making it difficult if not impossible for a horse to pass along the bridleway - particularly because the shrubs are blackthorn. This has been substantially the position for some years. I believe that the matter has been drawn to your attention via the Parish Council before. Some work was undertaken a year or so ago but the job was not finished as only part of the affected bridleway was cleared.

Please let me know why no further action is to be taken. I ask this because my understanding is that a bridleway is supposed to be 10 feet wide when on the edge of a field, as this one is, and this one is reduced to approximately 2 feet wide because of the overgrown shrubs. It would be helpful if you could reply before our next Parish Council Meeting fixed for Wednesday next, 14 october, at 7pm.
