Public Footpath in dangerous condition
Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 20:30, Thu 5 November 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 379253.
Large stretch of the only public footpath at the South end of Sutton St Edmund deteriorated to a point that it could not possibly now comply with the Highways Act 1980 part IV relevant to maintenance at Public Expense under the jurisdiction of the District Council. Importantly current poor condition poses a Health & Safety risk for pedestrians.

This issue has not yet been attended to and is now another 12 months in terms of time lapse since reporting to Lincolnshire County Council. Given the Health & Safety risk I feel there is little option but to escalate this to the Health & Safety Executive as a risk requiring their inspection.

Although a minor repair was completed the pavement is still in a very bad state. Having reported this problem before I was disappointed to receive an email saying my initial report had been dealt with and the issue fixed. It is NOT fixed ! We only have pavement on one side of Broadgate and this stretch needs attention now. Please don’t wait until someone falls and sue’s you before you act.
