Obscured visibility during vehicular egress from Daniel Court as worn double yellow lines and lack of Traffic Warden enforcement has led to increased parking on Barnack Road.
Reported via mobile in the Road markings faded/missing category anonymously at 12:49, Thu 19 November 2020
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 380207.
Worn double yellow lines and lack of Traffic Warden enforcement has led to increased vehicle parking in front of Daniel Court. This limits visibility along the Barnack Road when attempting to egress Daniel Court by car, and increases the probability of accidents. The increased speeding on Barnack Road along with view-obstruction caused by illegally parked vehicles has increased the risk of an accident when attempting to egress Daniel Court ... and negates the purpose of having clearly visible and enforced double yellow lines. This has been the case for the last 9 months.

The double yellow lines have not been repainted, and nothing else has been seen to be done. Why have you changed the status to "completed"?

The works have not been completed as the double yellow lines have not been reinstated either side of the exit onto Barnack Road from Daniel Court, Stamford PE9 2GJ. As a result, cars are now parked all day either of the Daniel Court exit restricting visibility on egress onto the Barnack Road. The lack of unhindered sight, and uncontrolled speeding of uncoming vehicles is a risk that can be prevented. Perhaps the addition of a mirror on the opposite side of the road (to Daniel Court exit) will further help to mitigate this risk.

The problem needs to be investigated during normal operation of Barnack Road. Currently, the nearby Girls School is on Summer break. There is also a one-way diversion in place on the affected area of Barnack Road from Water Street to Park Lane due to ongoing works on the train tunnel. Therefore, obstructive on-street parking, and traffic flow/ speeding is currently greatly reduced.
