Severe flooding at Riseholme Road/Newport roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 11:45, Sat 5 December 2020

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 381129.

I reported this problem many months ago. You admitted that you had known about it since November 2019!!!. You suggested that it was not just a blocked drain but the drainage pipes were too small.!! What a load of nonsense. Why would the drains at this spot be too small when you there is no sign of flooding in this area. This is not just a puddle - the road floods on the west side and after continuous rain it floods overf the crown of the road to the opposite footpath leaaving a foot wide .path for pedestrians. God help any pedestrian negotiating the footpath when a vehicle ploughs through the flood!. This is very similar to the Burton Road flooding which took you 15 years to remedy and then you carried out the drain repairs in 1/2 day! Just like Burton Road, this flooding is on the top of a hill. Is your department unfit for purpose? Perhaps the Local Government Ombudsman should decide!
