Water flooding from the road into the drive and also int door adjacent to main road (A1175)
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 15:15, Tue 5 January 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 383259.
I hve reported this before, September 2019 Ref 352419, and the report was closed as it was claimed it was the responsibility of a third party. The location is the A1175 in Tallington and the shared drive is for The Red House and my house, The Stables The problem is caused by poor drainage and a dropped kerb which is only 1cm above the road level. I assumed the 'third party' was Highways England and I contacted them last week after the very heavy rain in the week before. They stated that it was definitely a LCC problem. Will you please take action to fix this problem. Incidentally, the link to highways didn't work

Thank you for your proposed action on report reference number 383259. Whilst I welcome the action it is only a minor part of the problem. My main concern is the dropped kerb which is too low to prevent water flowing over it into the drive and threatening to flood into the building. It is also rendered virtually ineffective by the usual roadside debris gathering along its length and furthermore, some of that debris is swept onto the footpath which then becomes dangerously slippery to public users of the footpath. Will you please therefore look into raising the dropped kerb to prevent further flooding?

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. The site has been visited multiple times when heavy rain has been coming down and no signs of flooding were seen. Our records show that the drains in this area were cleaned in the last year and were running well. In times of extreme weather even the most efficient systems can become overwhelmed. If the problem recurs in less extreme conditions please report this again. Thank you for reporting this matter.
