Build up of rain water on road side that overflows drop kerb and drains into our driveway at 119 At. Leonard's Drive..

Reported via mobile in the Flooding category anonymously at 00:08, Friday 8 January 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 383542.

We have just purchased the property and were working there a few days ago when we had some rain. After about an hour the road just in front of the entrance to our drive was flooded and the water overflowed the drop kerb and ran down into our drive. It causes the entrance to our drive to become very muddy and as vehicles drive past the water sprays over the vehicle and makes a terrible mess.

  • As far as I am concerned this problems had not been solved. Yes, the drains have been cleaned, but there is no drain at the point where the water collects and as it is a low point it will continue to collect here and overflow down into my garden, which causes a wet, muddy driveway. As the vehicles pass the entrance the water is sprayed into the drive soaking anyone or anything and causing more mess.

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because the property is lower than the road. Due to the camber of the road and backfalling footway, water ingress is preventable without major alterations to this property's driveway, similar to the neighbouring driveway at 121. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. As discussed on site, the property is lower than the carriageway and kerbs are at full height with a working gully close by. Thank you for reporting this matter.
