State of road surface on Tamar Way

Serious concerns about the state of repairs and extremely poor condition of rhe road surface in general. Our street is by far in the worst state of any other road on the entire Dale view development. My elderly mother has limited mobility , is very unsteady on her feet and uses walking aids. I can no longer take her out in the wheelchair because crossing the uneven road surface is extremely uncomfortable for her and hard to manoeuvre over the broken uneven surface. The same applies with her mobility scooter and it is nigh on impossible to cross with her wheeled Walker as the wheels get stuck in the ruts and quite frankly I am afraid she will fall and this in turn impacts greatly on my mother not being able to get out. It is also dangerous for children on bikes and scooters etc. The road, with the exception of being patched up has not been touched for many years and is now so unsightly, I feel it detracts from the value of our properties. We all pay our council tax, we should by rights have a decent road surface.
Thank you for your report. We will investigate and make an update to this report within 14 days.

We acknowledge your concerns and accept that the highway has deteriorated in condition. We have assessed the road surface in accordance with our Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan and it does not require urgent action. Currently, the potholes are shallow and would not take compaction therefore this type of repair would not last. The road condition is not suitable for a saw cut repair either and would ideally be suited to resurfacing. The site has therefore been identified as requiring further works however these would be subject to funding and other County priorities. In the meantime we will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspection schedule. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: No further action
