Culvert under accessway from Sprite lane to a paddock and adjacent field is blocked causing the dyke to overtop and flood continuously down Sprite Lane in SW direction causing an ice hazard up to 100 metres long. The dyke itself is now a 120 metre long stagnant pool with a drowning hazard (particularly young children who walk and play in the area) and biological health hazard. It must also be upsetting the water table in the area with prolonged submerged area and therefore also presenting an associated uneven land slip / heave hazard (This has been present for over 18 months but obviously worsens following rainfall as per last weekend).

  • This fault is not on the publicly maintainable highway. Ditches are not highway and are riparian in ownership. To find the owner of the land you could contact Land Registry at https://www.gov.uk/ government/ organisations/ land-registry Thank you for reporting this matter.

Hello. It is at freezing point and the water is covering the road again. 7 Feb 2021. The HAZARD is on the ROAD. the ROAD is now dangerous. The ROAD is managed / owned by HIGHWAYS who are responsible for maintaining a SAFE road. HIGHWAYS are responsible for contacting the landowner and addressing the fault causing the HAZARD on the ROAD. NOT some member of the public. A member of the public has reported the HAZARD on the HIGHWAY which needs addressing by the owner of the HIGHWAY. Thank you Lincoln shire County Council but you cannot absolve your responsibility for keeping a safe roadway to a 3rd party.
