Potholes caused by running water
Reported via desktop in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 20:52, Mon 1 February 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 386762.
As previously reported, there is water running from a fissure in the road, see 'Potholes 2' image, on the street which has caused a number of potholes on the street. The worst of which are outside number 1 Thomas Street(the blue house). The potholes were filled in, in the summer but as the water continued to run, the material used to fill the potholes never dried and was subsequently loosened by passing vehicles. As you can see from the 'Potholes 1' image, there is a significant amount of debris, caused by these potholes continuing to increase in size. The flying debris, when vehicles pass, is starting to cause damage to surrounding property and vehicles. Whilst the potholes require filling, the issue of the running water needs resolving. As previously reported, Anglian Water have advised it is not their responsibility. Should the potholes simply be filled as done previously and nothing done about the running water, they will just need filling again shortly, costing the authority more in time/labour/materials.
