Collapsing steel cover
Reported via desktop in the Pothole on road/cycleway category by R D Gregory at 13:48, Mon 22 March 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 392828.
Yet again- it is a year since this was reported- the rectangular steel service cover at the corner of Carre Street has collapsed. This gives a violent and damaging jolt to all vehicles entering the road as it is in a critical part of the road. HGV's use this road and the likelihood of complete collapse and vehicle damage is high. Damage to the infra-structure operating the traffic lights is also possible.

Open Reach (BT) are responsible for this issue. We have reported this to them on your behalf and asked them to investigate. We are still waiting for BT to come up with a traffic management plan to enable the cover to be replaced as a permanent one visit job. Please contact them directly at https://www.openreach.com/ help-and-support/ damage-health-and-safety if you require any further information. Thank you for reporting this matter.
