Digital Billboard light pollution

Reported via desktop in the Sign (lit) category anonymously at 10:16, Friday 2 April 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 393763.

The digital billboard installed on Dixon Street overlooks residential houses on the river at the end of Cranwell Street. No one consulted us before the old billboard was replaced with a digital billboard, that shines a large amount of light pollution directly into bedroom windows all night long.

The problem is that this is disrupting sleep and peace. It also distracts drivers and cyclists using Dixon Street.

Either it needs turning off at night, or something needs to obstruct it on the riverbank where flood defence works are currently taking place, preferably non deciduous trees.
