Why are you resurfacing Harrington Road with cheap loose chippings?

Reported via desktop in the Problem at LCC roadworks category anonymously at 19:45, Wednesday 21 April 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 395088.

Harrington road is in decent shape. Why cover it over with cheap substandard chippings that are well known to wear out very quickly? These cheap surfaces only lead to bald areas and in wet or icy conditions create more of a hazard than a good piece of tarmacked road. Also they are prone to melting if we have a few hot summer days. Chippings are useless and not only make a mess they are known to block drains and cause undercarriage damage to cars even at 20 mph. Please reconsider your choice of road surface as when it wears out it will cost you three to four times as much to resurface in the near future.
