The pictured kerb has been rep[orted on a number of occasions to staff as it has been the direct and attributable cause of extensive flooding to the lower ground floor on two occasions. This is because resurfacing work by Highways or appointed subcontractors has resulted in a significant alteration of both the height camber of the the highway, so much so that the camber now directs any surface water from the A52 and it egresses directly into our property. Two engineers have called in since the last incident and I believe both recommended rectification works.

Though I appreciate that the kerbing facilities two tractors with implements to pass at speed which seems to have been the overriding rationale, as installed it DOES NOT allow any surface water to escape away from our property into the near side ditch complex and logic would suggest was the purpose of the ditch. Instead, it allows it to rise and rise until it some of it spills over the kerb. We are just coming to the end of yet another period of drying out of a house that has not flooded in 200 years and did not do so until the kerbing was installed.
