Fixed
This pothole is now a big health and safety issue a lorry went over it whilst I was walking by and a peas of stone shot out and hit my leg. If this had been a child it could of been very serious.
Reported via mobile in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 08:42, Sat 22 May 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 397121.
This pothole is getting bigger by the day is very dangerous to both drivers and pedestrians it needs to be fixed urgently.

This is an update picture from today. An elderly couple blew out a tyre on this pothole this afternoon and were left stranded for 2hrs while they wait for the AA to help. This is ridiculous, this needs fixing now before someone is seriously injured or worse!
The depth is over 100mm deep and can now see the layers of thin asphalt. The result aggregate loss is on the foot path so impossible for elderly, disabled, and parents with prams to get by.
This needs sorting now!
This whole section of road needs reconstruction! Not repair with an instant cold mix asphalt product that will fail again in a week's time, a proper reconstruction that meets the demands of the heavy traffic and that is safe for both vehicles and pedestrians walking by.

More update on same defect today. It has worsened over night, pothole is deeper and wider and loss of more aggregate.
During rain the severity of the pothole is masked and could result in people incidentally driving into the pothole, for a motorcyclist this could be fatal.
Note that the thickness of the asphalt is less than 100mm thick which is less than the highways standard of 200mm looking at the DMRB latest standards and thus confirms the inadequacy for current traffic levels highlighting the need for reconstruction as opposed to temporary patch repair with cold mix asphalt products.

Not 'Fixed'. Better word would be temporarily patched. The patch is not sealed around the edges which has left loose stone and will allow ingress of water. This patch will fail again in the next couple of weeks.
The footpath was also left full of debris making it almost impossible for people with prams, wheel chairs, and elderly to pass. Why was this not cleared up as part of the patch?
The successfulness of a patch repair such as the one used for this pot hole relies on its bond to the remaining pavement. Being that the previous photos suggest that no pavement was left at the base of the pot hole and was saturated, it begs the question what the repair is bonding to?
The poor edges and lack of bond to the remaining structure leads to the conclusion that this patch will only last a matter of weeks which will continue to generate loose aggregate on the footpath and road and lead to a pothole much quicker than before.
This is wasteful use of resources and is a safety hazard which the local residents and passers by have to deal with daily. The pavement clearly is not adequate for the traffic that is imposed on the road and therefore either reconstruction of the road is needed or the road use is restricted to Cars and LGVs only.
There are other parts of this road which are just as bad and they will be reported separately until the road is either reconstructed or the road use is restricted.

Well done council!
Because you failed to clean up the debris from the left over pothole when you 'fixed' it, a boy on his bicycle skidded on the debris and fell on the road with his bicycle above him. He scrapped his legs, and it is fortunate that no cars or HGV's were in the road at the time otherwise this would have been a severe accident ending in hospital.
This has been reported previously as a health and safety danger and as the council has failed to address this, it has ended in an injury. I hope you are pleased!
Get the road fixed properly before another accident.
