  • Some of the objects were placed terre to allow a brief recovery from the inappropriate use of the hamlet. Deep ruts a foot deep in some places. Area had twelve barrows of topsoil and was re-seeded. LCC WOULD NOT HAVE BOTHERED.

  • Further thoughts Why do people post things anonymously rather than having the courtesy to discuss things face to face. Verges and roads will be on the agenda of our forthcoming parish meeting, though I suspect the writer will not bother to attend. Some people prefer to moan rather than doing something positive to help the parish. There is in fact a pull in just before the temporary protection on the lhs as organised with Highways some years ago. In this hamlet most people maintain the patch in front of their property. We have installed a defibrillator, dog bins, a lovely new parish notice board, though somebody moaned about the later. The parish created a lovely green a few years ago with now mature trees and a seat , maintained by a resident. The issue of objects on verges is a serious one as many people in this area of the countryside have placed large rocks or posts. No effort has been made by LCCto do anything about this as they used to..

As observed above the temporary objects on the left were to protect verge recovery.
