The slip road at the bottom of Brant Road turning left onto Newark Road is so uneven that this is dangerous distraction to motorists and a real hazard to cyclists

Reported via desktop in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 20:09, Wednesday 26 May 2021

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 397493.

This slip road tarmac surface is so so worn it is dangerous and not only distracts motorists but is real hazard to cyclists. This is the second time I have reported this slip road as the condition has deteriorated since my last report . My previous report to my absolute surprise was simply dismissed as the council were seemingly aware of the issue but did not deem this severe enough to rectify at that time. Whilst this slip road is in desperate need of resurfacing I am sure some form of temporary repair could be undertaken to reduce the risk to motorists and especially cyclists until a permanent repair can be carried out. As with so many repairs I have seen the tarmac does not fully fill the holes the workmanship is extremely poor and repairs simply are not lasting. When these repairs are not completed to a high standard it is simply a waste of taxpayers money and their time in reporting such defects.

  • Despite your updates stating a temporary repair has been carried out there has been absolutely NO temporary repair or any other work undertaken in this area since I first reported this issue. This is dangerous to cars, cycles and even pedestrians and a temporary repair is the least I would expect not assurances that work has been carried out when quite clearly it has NOT!!!
