Overgrown tree makes using the pavement difficult on the walking bus journey to school and blocks vision for drivers exiting Lonsdale Road

We are again getting complaints from the public about the state of your lime tree outside 146 Empingham Road. This happens every year when people step out into the road to avoid the overhang but is worse this year because it now reaches the road and affects drivers’ view. Maybe it is a shame that this tree was omitted from the pollarding exercise earlier in the year for the other side of the road, this tree wasn’t touched even though dead branches were falling off.

  • We, as the highways authority believe that the owners of 146 Casterton Road are responsible for this issue. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • It appears that the council investigated the wrong road, the problem is on Empingham Road and the tree causing the problem is definitely outside the boundary of the residence, has always been accepted as the responsibility of the highways department who have previously accepted full responsibility for the tree. The report should not have been closed based on incorrect information.

  • The pin is on the wrong place on the map. The issue relates to a tree outside 146 Empingham Rd which is next to the junction with Lonsdale Road.
