Wooden posts on grass verge reducing usable road width
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction on pavement/verge category anonymously at 13:29, Tue 22 June 2021
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 399428.
Wooden posts have been erected on the grass verge outside 2, Red Leas Cottages, Red Leas Lane. LN117EL The posts have been erected close to the road which has severely reduced the useable width of road thus obstructing wide vehicles for example farm vehicles from passing safely which is exasperated by a ditch on the opposite side of the road. There is an increased risk of tyre and machinery damage and with the impending harvest and busy farming season looming is of great concern.

Currently our resources are such that we have to restrict our efforts to dealing with encroachments that are considered a significant danger or nuisance to users of the highway. In this instance we do not intend to take any immediate action, however we will continue to monitor the site as part of our routine inspections of the highway and will review the situation as necessary. Thank you for reporting this matter.
